TAC5112: Daisy chain configuration for multiple TAC5112/ PCM6340

I would like to use the daisy chain feature of the TAC5112/5212 to connect two devices plus one together such that I can access the ADCs and DACs of all of the devices over one TDM bus with 4 signals - BCLK, FSYNC, DIN, and DOUT.

each Codecs is used As 2 Single ended Adc and 4 single ended Dacs. to get to 8 i/os a PCM6340 is adding 4 more inputs.

I can only find detailed documentation for the PCM6340 how to do this:

but its unclear to me how to do it with TAC5xx2 -especially as it involves 2 direction for DIN/DOUT. is there a similar document for the 5xx2 family?

Hi Jan,

Unfortunately, the daisy chain for the TAC5112 can only be enabled for one direction, not both. And this document is not available for the 5xx2 family, although it works the same as the app note you shared by configuring the GPIO as a daisy-chain input for EITHER the DOUT or DIN path.

However, you should be able to use the "shared TDM" configuration for both DOUT and DIN simultaneously, if that is a possibility for your design.
