CC85xx Master audio silence

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PUREPATH-WL-CFG

Hi All,

When there is no audio input to CC85xx Master,(i.e. audio silence)

Is it possible to autonomously stop the communication between the slave?

Do you need an external control?

Regards,

Seishin

  • Dear Seishin,

Yes to some extent; if you can ensure than the input is silent (digital silence).

Option 1. Put the external audio device (DAC, CODEC) in low power state to save power after a configurable timeout. The RF link between master and slave will be fully active here. Very useful for speakers, subwoofers where the amplifier draws a lot of information. Not as useful in headphone applications where the audio device draws little additional current.

Option 2. If the slave have a power on/off button one can turn the slave completely off after a configurable timeout. The user will have to push the power on button to start the streaming again.

This is further described in the PurePath Wireless configurator help file (power management panel) and the extensive User Guide.

Hope this helps and please let me know if you have further questions.
    Best regards,
