TPA3106D1 as a TEC Controller

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV593, TPA3106D1, LM4860, TPA3001D1

TI Team,

I have an application to drive/control a TEC. I would use the DRV593/94 except that these parts are voltage supply limited (maximum of 5V). I've researched a few different options that involve using audio amplifiers to accomplish TEC controlling.

Here are my basic requirements: 1) supply voltage of 12-20V; 2) load current between 2-3A, single direction only; 3) linear based solution preferred

I'd like to try an integrated Class D audio drivers like the TPA3106D1 (40W mono). I found an application note that uses the LM4860, so I was thinking of using the TPA3106D1 in a similar fashion. However, after reviewing the input structure of the TPA3106D1 I see an OTA, so connecting the feedback to the input is unlikely to work because I have no way of setting my threshold voltage.

Am I wrong in my analysis here? If not, how do I generate my reference voltage?

I'm open to any suggestions you may have for my application. Let me know.
