Hydrophone preamplifier design using OPA37

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA37, OPA27

I need a hydrophone preamplifier circuit with frequency response in the range of 2Hz to 30 Khz with single voltage supply. The data sheet of OPA37 contains a hydrophone preamp for EDO6166 transducer with frequency response from 1kHz to 50kHz. How can I design it for my desired frequency range. Is there any way to adjust the gain. Could anyone please help me with the circuit specifications and characteristics.

could anyone tell me the gain of this amplifier?

  • Hi Vrinda,

The following application note should help you get started. You can configure the gain based on the resistor value selection based on the amplifier topology that you select. The first few circuits should help you with that.

The bandwidth of the amplifier will allow signals passed from the transducer to progress to the next part of your circuitry. If you desire a filter, you can search for an application note on designing filters.

    Best Regards,
