I'm thinking of using a LME49860 dual opamp but I'm concerned about what might happen at its inputs if the positive supply were to drop below ground as a possible failure. If the input uses PNP diff pair then the base to emitter juction of the diff pairs would become reversed biased and no current would flow which is what I want. I cannot have any DC current flowing into or out of the inputs except for the low bias currents.
Is there any protection circuits on the inputs that could also cause higher currents to flow in the inputs with the positive supply going negative?
