I need to source a replacement for 2 2134 op amps in a new preamp design. I am fond of the bass response and warm tone of the 2134 in my existing designs, but the new application uses phantom power which is limited to a total of 10mA for the complete circuit. I need a family of audio op amps that will have a low Iq and low noise in a DIP package. I am considering the TLE2082 and TLE2062.
some circuit info:
The circuit is 4 amp channels (4X1/2 of 2 dual op amps)
a non-inverting buffer with 11X gain > a EQ with a second non-inverting amp stage for make up gain > two amp stages for a balanced differential output.
The phantom supply voltage is typically +48V but can vary with different products. The +48V supply drops voltage considerably with increased current draw from the ICs. I use a voltage divider to provide VCC/2 to the gnd reference and to bias the non-inverting inputs. The power supply is decoupled with .1uf and 220uf caps to the rails. The preamp also has a switched dual 9V battery 18V supply when phantom is unavailable .... or has the older 2mA spec or lower voltage phantom supplies.
I am fond of the higher slew rates for fast bass transient slam, however in sims the high slew causes high frequency rolloff. I would really like as close to flat frequency response and minimal phase shift if possible.
I need a part that is:
Close to the cost of the OPA2134 (or less would be great).
DIP 8 pagkage
Iq of 2mA or less per channel
Excellent sound quality
Not finicky to bias currents to the point of oscillation
Wide range of supply voltages (typically +/- 24V but could drop to +/- 6V or +/- 12V)
8-9 mhz is fast enough for the GBW
I have found a part from LT that specs very well, but is 2X the price. I have drilled down datasheets until my eyes ache.
Can someone please recommend a Burr Brown ,TI, AD, or similar IC for my new build?
Many humble thanks
