TAS5162 "not used pin" of not using channel

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5162, TAS5624A

Hi all.

There is a question about processing of the "empty pin(not used pin)" in not using channel of TAS5162.

TAS5162 device is the amplifier containing four channel.
What do we do with empty pin processing of the channel in it which is not used?
Specifically, it is the following pin.
PVDD_X、GVDD_X、PWM_X、OUT_X、BST_X

Open pin or GND connection?

Best Regards.

  • Hi, Mr Kobayashi,

The TAS5162 is a little bit old product... I might point out we have much newer, better alternatives, like TAS5624A for example.

To answer your question, ALL PVDD_X terminals must be connected to the power supply, and all must have local ceramic decoupling (0.1 or 1 uF for example) sitting directly next to the pins with a solid path to ground. Same for GVDD_X. You also need to use recommended capacitor on the BST_X terminals. You can leave the unused PWM_x terminals floating. Do NOT ground them!
