TAS5261 vs TAS5631

Good morning to all!

We are going to develop a new board with stereo class D ampli.

Before to start the design I ask you an advice, I'm in doubt between TAS5261 and TAS5631.

Power performance are similar, but I can not understand if they TAS5261 is open or closed loop.

I found mismatching indications in the Audio Guide.

Is the only difference the stereo and mono configuration?

The idea was to used TAS5508C as modulator.

Finally what about production forecast, are both produced in long term?

Hi, Giulio,

Oops, nice catch! The TAS5261 is OPEN loop.

In addition to TAS5508C, you might want to look at our new family of modulators, TAS5548 and TAS5558.

Hi Don,

Just one more help, I try to figure out the difference between TAS5548 and TAS5558, but it is not so easy to catch all from datasheet.

On what I understood TAS5548 works with external clock and TAS5548 works with internal oscillator.

Is this the only difference?

I want only to clarify it before to order the samples.

That is my understanding as well.

If you want TAS5558 samples, I have some; but they're not on the web yet. PM me and I'll send you a couple.
