TAS5704 Circuit Example for PBTL output

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5704, TAS5760M, TAS5760MD

Hi,

Does someone have the reference design for PBTL output with TAS5704 under the condition as below?

PBTL output、Vcc=12V、RL=4Ω、Output Power =20W

or Is it possible to configer the TAS5704 EVM for PBTL?

If possible, Which point should I configure?

Thanks,

Go

  • Hi, Go,

I would recommend you look at the TAS5760M or TAS5760MD as a replacement for the TAS5704...

The newer device has the ability to be easily used in PBTL mode with one output filter (see the d/s for more details).

For the TAS5704, you would have to put the same data in the L/R sections of the I2S data, and then tie the outputs together after the two LC filters, and then to the load. So, you would need four inductors, whereas with the TAS5760xx, you could just use two inductors (they would have to be rated for the load current, though).

  • Hi, D2

    Thank you for your comment.

Actually, my customer had decided to use TAS5704 so it's difficult to change the device....

Anyway, if we set TAS5704 to PBTL , we have to do below, right?

    1. Put the same data in the L/R sections of the I2S data,

    2. Tie the outputs together after the two LC filters, and then to the load.

Is there any other point we have to do for PBTL?

    Thanks,

    Go

  • Hi, Go,

Sorry for the delay in responding.

    You got it!
