How to view a output of a class-d amplifier as a sinuisoidal on the oscilloscope

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM48411

Hi,

I had experiment with an audio amplifier, LM48411. I am able to get the PWM output result. Now I had a question, is/are there any way/method that I can do to convert/show the output waveform as a sinusoidal waveform?

Please advice

  • Hi Seng Huat,

The LM48411 is a filter-free device, i.e. does not need a filter to drive a speaker load. If you would like to look at the sine-wave, a RC filter with an audio band cut-off frequency can be used to filter the PWM output.

    e.g. 100-ohm & 0.047uF RC filter will have a ~33kHz cut-off frequency.
