TAS5760M DC Error Protection

Hi,

We have obtained an additional question from our customers.
If the TAS5706M detect the DC error, we think that the MOS FETs of pwm output driver will be set hi-z, SPK_FAULT pin will be set low level.
Because the TAS5760M does not return automatically, if Tspk_fault(>650ms@typical) time has passed and SPK_SD pin is toggled, SPK_FAULT pin is set high level, it will return normal mode.
Is it correct?
Could you please tell us about it?

Hi Kato-san,

The DC-detect will kick-in when output PWM duty-cycle is greater than threshold for >420mSec. To test this out, the Hi-Pass option needs to be disabled (via register 0x02, but-7) & a DC input needs to be provided to the device.

Thank you for your information.
Our customers have evaluated the DC error protection by using method you taught to us.
Although the DC error protection worked, the SPK_FAULT pin was oscillated with about 300kHz.
The SPK_FAULT pin is low level between 10us, high level between 320us.
And they tried to return normal mode by using SPK_SD pin, but the TAS5760M was hung up,
could not return normal mode.
Is it correct?
How do you evaluate the dc error protection?
Do you have evaluation waveforms you obtained by using oscilloscope?
Moreover, could you please tell us about evaluation methods in detail as soon as possible?

The informations which we told to you had an error.
The oscillating frequency of SPK_FAULT pin is not 300 kHz but 3 kHz.
Could you please advise to us about the operation of DC error protection as soon as possible?

The data-sheet has a description of the DC error protection.

It was detected.
