A1C3104: Overflow on I2S bus: Does it cause sign inversion or a horizontal clip?

Dear TI Support,

Please refer to the attached waveform. In my system, the I2S output of the TLVAIC3104 CODEC is routed to a few amplifiers through an audio router function inside an FPGA. The attached waveform is a plot of the I2S waveform going to the ampliflers. I'm surprised that the waveform exhibits an inversion when the signal clips. Does the CODEC invert the sign when the CODEC overflowsor underflosw? ? or will the codec output stay at h'800000000 when the signal clips in the ADC? I'm trying to get time on the system to see what the CODEC output looks like.Does the waveform look like something that the CODEC could be producing? Thank you very much for your help.
