Audio Stereo (TPA2026D2) thru Micro controller

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPA2026D2

Hi,

Iam Using TPA2026D2 Stereo amplifier,Iam Driving Speaker thru below

DSPIC(Micro controller PWM Pins)==>RC Low pass filter==>Stereo Amplifier==>Speaker.

I used RC low pass filter, i would like to know RC low pass filter is okay or i need to use some other low pass filter to drive the speaker without any problems, I would like to know what kind of Low pass filter is better for this kind of requirements.

please suggest your feedback on circuit.

  • Hi, Anil,

In the part marked, "to DSPIC PWM Pins," you need to swap the order of the R and C. This will also result in a -3 dB point of around 4 kHz, which seems a little too low for audio.

Also, make sure that you put a smaller ceramic cap as close as physically possible to C3/B4/C4 as this cap is critical to provide high frequency decoupling to our device. I recommend something in the range of 0.1 uF to 1 uF. Check the EVM schematic for more information.

  • Hi Dan,

Thank you so much for your response.

Yes the input of the audio is from Micro controller PWM Pins, I will swap the order of R and C(this is correct because its passes only Audio signals blocks DC signals.), i would like to know how to increase my audio -3db to better and 4khz to around 10-15Khz frequency, please suggest how to correct my circuit to get good quality of audio.

    Regards

    Anil

  • Hi, Anil,

Sorry for the delay; I was out of the office.

Can you post a plot of your performance now? How does it compare to the data in the data sheet?

  • Hi Dan,

Iam not simulating the circuit, i would like to know solution which values would be better to reach good Quality of sound.

    Regards
