Hello, I am wondering what is the state of mute pin if it is left floated (nothing connected to it-nor gnd nor +vcc)? In other words, will pga23xx be in mute mode if mute pin left unconnected?

Hi, Oliver,

Based on my interpretation of the data sheet, it does not appear that the PGA2310 has a pull-up or pull-down on the /MUTE terminal, so you will need to provide an external connection. Without that, the mode will be undefined.

Thanks for your reply, but I am still not sure will I get output audio signal if I left mute pin floating. I mean, it is not possible to get undefined state of output audio pins(it has to be in mute or unmute mode).

Sorry I wasn't clear.

I can't tell you what state the output will be in if you leave the /MUTE pin floating. It may sometimes be active outputs, but other times, it may be muted outputs depending on stray currents, etc.
