We are designing in the TLV320DAC3100 and are using the HP driver as a lineout driver. What are the suggested loading options for this mode on the HP lines ?

Also, does the headset detection logic apply equally to detecting line out detection as it does for headphones/headsets ?

See figure 4-3 in the datasheet . RL = 16 Ohm.

The headset setection logic senses the voltage on VOL/MICDET. If it is zero, a headset (or headphone) is detected. For a stereo headphone with a 3.5mm plug, this works because the plug will connect the VOL/MICDET pin to GND when it's inserted. See http://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/slaa454 for more details (this app note is for a different codec but the same principles apply to the DAC3100).

Thanks D. Hartl, any chance you could point me to a sample schematics/application demonstrating how to wire the output stage for driving in lineout mode ?
