CC8520-CC2590 integrating with RDK Value SB

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM3070

Hi all,

We have designed a Soundbar with  RDK Value SB as reference, now this has to be integrated with CC8520-CC2590 module.

Pls share the procedure to configure (using Purepath wireless configurator) CC8520-CC2590 with PCM3070 used in Soundbar.

Do we need to connect the MCLK from Soundbar to the MCLK of CC8520-CC2590..? Schematics page of this section is as below.

  • Hi,

since we don't have out-of-the-box support for the PCM3070 codec in the configurator, you will have to create your own audio definition file for this codec to set up the correct I2C configuration etc. You can use of of the include files in ...\PurePath Wireless Configurator\audio_devices as a start.

Useful information about how to use these files can be found in the  Configurator Help, in the Help tab. Search for "Audio device definition file".

I have not worked with this specific codec myself, but it seems that the codec might need the MCLK input.
The MCLK is only a output from the CC85xx that is not used internally by the device, so if the codec have some other clock source, MCLK can be disabled.

    Regards,
    Johan
