Hi everybody,
I need the PCM2903's recording function for S/PDIF to USB conversion but the recording function does not work, neither analog nor S/PDIF. Playback works normal. In Options -> Properties -> Recording -> Show following Volume Controls (sorry, I don't know the exact English titles) no Volume Control is displayed. Thus I suspect that the PCM2903 does not signal its recording capability to the PC.
Formally I used to design a similar Interface with the PCM2902 which worked fine, including automatic switch-over from S/PDIF input to analog input. Another Chinese USB headset adapter (no TI IC inside) works, too, and displays "Microphone" in Options -> Properties -> Recording -> Show following Volume Controls, just as I would expect.
I'm using Windows XP and tried that on two PCs with identical results.
BTW, the mixer playback console displays controls for "Loudspeaker" (the master volume), Wave, SW-Synthesizer and CD-Player. Is the PCM2903's audio input meant with "CD-Player"? If so, shouldn't it rather read "Line/SPDIF In" or so?
Best regards, Uwe
