Question about TPA6203A1

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPA6203A1

Hi,

I'm using TPA6203A1 as  audio amplifier in single ended configuration. This is my circuit

  • Vdd=3.3V
  • Cbypass=1uF
  • Ri=22K+-1%, Rf=44K+-1%
  • Ci=47nF+-10%
  • R6=R7=47K
I've used schematic drawn in Figure 6 of SLOA142 application note. Shutdown pin is connected to a general purpose micro output pin. My problem is about pops heard when audio amplifier is switched off with shutdown pin: this problem is not present when TPA6203A1 is switched on....what can i do?

  • Hi, John,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

What is your source doing when you're shutting down the TPA6203A1? Is it also being shutdown? Is the pop being generated by the previous stage, and being fed to our amplifier?

I noticed your Ci's are significantly smaller than Lain's, maybe increasing the value would help (this doesn't make sense, but I know his circuit works very well).
