We have the TAS5706A designed in on one of our class D amplifier products. It's working well, and our customers like it.
Unfortunately, we're running into long lead time issues (~6 months) as we ramp up production. Long term, we can deal with that. But it's a big problem during our ramp-up.
We can get the TAS5706, though. The TI website implies the TAS5706 and TAS5706A are pin-compatible and functionally equivalent, but not drop-in replacements. The I2C register set looks pretty much identical. Are there any issues we should worry about? Or can we (at least for the short term) use the TAS5706 as a "drop-in" for the TAS5706A?
(I know the TAS5706 is NRND, but we are looking for a way we can successfully ride out the long lead time issue for this production run without a big technical risk.)
Thank you!
