Less sound coming out audio AIC3110 codec

Hi All,

I am implementing the AIC3110 codec driver in WinCE TI BSP.

I am able to hear sound ,but very less volume coming out in the speaker.

I set 24db volume in register (DAC Left Volume Control) 0x41.

Is it any other configuration needed?

Please find and XL sheet for codec dump register value and clock details in below.

MCLK = 24 mhz

FRM = 48KHZ

BCLK = 3.072 mhz

Please set bit 7 in P1R38 and P1R39 to 1.

Hi Hari,
i have set 7th bit Page 1 38 and Page1 39.
Still it is less volume.

Your register setup looks correct. Please check SPKVDD and your source signal.

Thanks for quick reply,

I have checked SPKVDD and showing a value of = 3.36V.

We are configuring codec pages = 0 and 1.

For Normal Playback from Speaker do we need to configure any other page registers in the codec?

In linux source is writing firmware before initialize the AIC3110 codec.
Is it mandatory for writing firmware of normal speaker out?

Your configuration looks fine. You do not have to write to other pages besides 0 and 1.

It is mandatory to write a complete configuration to the AIC3110 before it is functional. It does not matter when you do this during the boot up sequence but it has to be done before you will be able to hear anything on the outputs.

Please make sure that the digital audio data format from your host processor is compatible with the digital audio interface configuration of the AIC3110. Is it loud enough on the headphone outputs? If so, you must either increase the SPKVDD or use a different speaker.
