Hi,

I am using TAS5717 Audio amplifier in my application. I want to use 3 W speaker and i have option to provide either 5V or 24V to PVDD. Please help me to configure DRC settings for PVDD 5V and 24V.

    Hi Charles,

    I would suggest you to download the TAS5717 GUI, there you can easily configure the threshold of the AGL (This device has an AGL that basically is a more advanced and easy to use  DRC!). It will be hard to get  3W from 5V power supply, if that power spec is required, you should use 24V.

    Hi Diego,

    Thank you for the suggestion. So what should be DRC setting value of i want to drive a 3W speaker. I am using the GUI to get the cfg file.

    Can i start with -4db?

    Anticipating an early reply.

    Hello Charles,

    If you are using a 24V power supply, I would recommend starting with a smaller value, perhaps -15dB or so to get an output power around 3W.
