In Fig 1 & 2 of the data sheet (transmit and receive operations), does PCMO pin go hi z after the LSB has been transmitted? does the 2.048MHz clock need to be running after the LSB has been sent?In receive mode, does the MCLK need to be stopped or keep running after the LSB has been received? or it doesn't matter?
