TAS3208EVM-LC does not work

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS3208

I bought an TAS3208EVM-LC and I am not able to get it started with the included CD MSAV TAS3XXX-V2 October2008.

The board has been exchanged by TI already and since there is no improvement, I think there is something wrong

with the purepath software. My sons also tried startup using the Users Guide from April2008 - not better result.

What happens is that after build, generate and upload of the "hello"-program (simple feed through) purepath

states "target runing". But there is never an output on the earphone. Of course I chose 3208_init_master.cfg command.

What I want to configure is a programmable Notchfilter for tinnitus-therapy.

Any help is welcome!

Since August 2008, we have released several updates to PurePath Studio. This latest version should be used, and you can simply download it if you have access to the TAS3x-PurePath Studio Extranet. Please refer to the PPS FAQ's for instructions to obtain access if you currently don't have the permissions available via this link: PurePath Studio FAQ.

If we look at the schematic, we can see that the headphone output is connected to HP_OUTL/R pins on the TAS3208. The HP_OUT is accessable via channels 5-6 in the TAS3208DAC_OUT Component. Please refer to the help file with the latest software for better details. Most likely, the board is working as expected, however the software routing in the 'hello' project is not sending the audio data to channels 5-6.
