Hi everyone,

Can you implement channel delay on the TAS5548 to provide time alignment of speaker drive units?

(I have the TAS5548 EVM and software)

I'm not an expert on biquads and can't find any info on whether a biquad can be used to create a delay.

Hi Mike, I will look into your question and get back to you. Do you know how much delay is required? BQs can be used to create phase shifts.

Hi Damian,

The separate DSP unit I currently use can provide 0-9milliseconds delay on each channel in 0.02 millisecond increments.

It is unlikely I will need more than 3ms and typically less than 1ms. 0.02ms increments are adequate.

Hi Mike,

Using BQs to create delays will be cumbersome and may require a lot of BQs to achieve the desired phase shift delay. A better recommended solution will be to use TPA5051 in front of the TAS5548 I2S signal to create the desired delay.
