According to the ACEV-1A EVM User's Guide

"The DAC3120 EVM works together with the Codec Control software. It connects to a PC via USB and enumerates as a USB class audio device. Once configured with the Codec Control software, the EVM acts as a sound card which can play back audio from the PC."

However this is showing up under Windows Device Manager as 'Unknown" and I am not finding any drivers listed under the device page.

Hi, Scott,

The EVM should install the correct driver once it is connected. The EVM could have an issue. Could you try the following wiki article indications, please?

hmm . I am still not getting it to show up as a sound card. Although the "dfu driver" did install. There is a device under device manager called "DFUUSB". Im also not seeing any power on LEDs.

hmm. I tried this many times before and the process seemed to be successful each time. however I am now getting an detach call failed error... anyhow in the interest of saving time, I ordered another EVM to try. It works well. The other may be defective, or I may have messed something up while trying to do register writes over I2C...

For some reason I'm no longer getting any sound output. I can see signal on the tie points. Revive a USB Audio EVM procedure. I saw the LED go off and now they are on again.

CodecControl gives and error message "The system cannot find the path specified."

I'm not sure if there is something I am doing wrong.. these boards appears to be quite unreliable.

Hi, Scott,

Could you provide information about the clock lines? Are you getting something on the BCLK, WCLK and MCLK lines? Also, when you connect the EVM, what is it marked on the audio devices? I mean, how is this device recognized by the PC?

I am getting something BCLK, WCLK, but not MCLK. The EVM was being recognized as a speaker. Then after I tried the Revive a USB Audio EVM steps, it's now being recognized as a "Line" under windows sound playback devices.

Hi, Scott,

When you follow the Revive a USB Audio EVM procedure, do you avoid the step 16 (Remove mini-EVM.exe)?

I skipped it at first. Then I ran it (Remove mini-EVM.exe) to see if it would make a difference. I did not notice anything different from before running it and after.

Hi, Scott,

Could you verify the voltage levels on the EVM, please? Also, have you tested the EVM in a different PC? This is to have a better approach to this issue.
