signal of TLV320AIC23BPW

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV320AIC23B

Hi team,

My customer is using the chip TLV320AIC23BPW now. They want to check the information below:

1. audio input voltage range and input current range( using LINEIN)

2. audio output voltage range and output current range and power range( using handphone output)

I have checked the datasheet, the input and ouput voltage is 1Vrms. But it's 0db condition, so if we set the gain larger, the voltage should be bigger. So i want to check the max voltage, maybe the supply voltage.

For the output power, I can calculate the max voltage is 1.9v and max current is 50mA, could you please help me double check it?

Thank you.

  • Hi, Frank,

The TLV320AIC23B voltage and current ranges can be calculated with the electrical characteristics section of datasheet.

Regarding the input voltage, both microphone and line input voltage ranges are -0.3V to AVDD + 0.3V. We recommend not to be at these margins because it may cause permanent damage in the device. The input current would depend of the input and gain. The microphone input has a typical input resistance of 14kohm. While the line input has a typical 35kohm if input gain is 0dB. You may divide the voltage range with the resistance to get the current range.

The output voltage is limited to the DAC output. The voltage can be from 0V to AVDD. The current will be determined by the output load. In case of the headphone output, you must ensure that the maximum output power is respected.
