TAS5414C master/slave mode

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5414C

Hi,

I received a question about TAS5414C from a customer. The question is as follows;

If customer have only one TAS5414C chip, can they use it as a Slave instead as a Master by connecting I2C_ADDR (pin 62) to D_BYP pin?
Because if they can do this, they don't need to set register 0X0B bit D6 to 1 by I2C.

Best regards,

  • Ito-san,
    Yes, you are correct. In this case, the device will be expecting an external clock on the OSC_SYNC pin. if a clock is not present a watchdog will place the output FETs into Hi-Z mode and will be move to Mute or Play until this clock is present.
