TAS5086 Soft Mute

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5086

Hi,

I have questions about TAS5086 Soft Mute.
Q1. How many samples are 1024 steps?
Q2. Is the ramp rate constant while a ramp period?
Q3. If the ramp rate is constant, what is the ramp rate?

Best regards,
Akio Ito

  • Hi Akio,

Q1: This should be 1024 samples as it would be 1 step per frame.
Q2: Since the sampling rate should stay constant and there is 1 step per frame, the ramp rate should stay constant.
Q3: The ramp rate will be 127 dB (amplitude range for device) divided by the step count. So for 1024 steps, the step amount should be 127/1024 = 0.124 dB per step.

  • Hi, Justin-san,

    Thank you for the answer.
But I don't understand the reason of 127dB. Where are the grounds of 127 dB on the data sheet?

    Best regards,
