PCM9211 hardware control mode evaluation board

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM9211, DSD1792A

I would like to use the PCM9211 in hardware control mode.  If I purchase the evaluation board as a starting point. How do I.

1  Select which optical input is being used

2  Connect a USB module such as the MIKROE-1204 click board (Found on Mouser)

My end desire is to connect the PCM9211 to the DSD1792A and have the ability to have a COAX, USB and 1 more more optical inputs.  I would like to run everything in default (Hardware) mode with no processor control.

Thank you

  • Hi, Tony,

Welcome to E2E, Thanks for your interest in our products!.

I asked my colleague to take a look into this, he will contact you after holiday. As a starting point, I would recommend you to check the PCM9211EVM User's Guide.

  • Diego,

Thank you for the prompt reply.  I have the data sheet and users guide.   Both have copious information.  But iit s seem both are aimed at interfacing via software.  The processor that I will be using is already doing many other things and I would like to use hardware mode with the default values.  It that means more than one 9211 feeding the DAC, that is fine.
