PCM1741: Communication between PCM1741 and PCM1807 to and from TIR1000

Part Number: PCM1741
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIR1000, , PCM1807

I am trying to design an analog audio to IRDA communication system and I am not sure if these three chips with be able to digitally communicate with each other.  I think the question comes down to if the output of the pcm1807 can be read through Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter (UART) and then what do I need to do to get pcm1741 to read the Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter output from the TIR1000.

Thanks for the help.

  • Hi, Ryan,

Welcome to E2E, Thanks for your interest in our products!.

The digital outputs of the PCM devices are compliant only with digital audio formats, like I²S, so interfacing them directly with the TIR1000 is not possible.
