Hi Audio Folks

We have the problem running this EVM. Despite loading the cfg files provided in the installation folder, it doesn't come out sound. Have tried 2 sets with same problem.

This is quite an urgent attention. We can't proceed the design of this device. Could you advise how to make this EVM works?

In addition, does TAS5186A support 3x BTL like TAS5176 ?

If yes, Mode pins M2/M3 shall be set as 1/0 ?

Kelvin,

I don't have an EVM at this moment to confirm for you but I am getting one.

What current are you seeing on each of the power supplies?

What do you see on the MCLK, SDIN, and LRCLK lines?

What is the state of your Mute and PDN signals?

Do you see any SD or OTW errors reporting?

How are you interfacing with the input-USB board?

I know the documentation is a bit confusing for this. I have figured it out though!

I followed the following guide and was able to get audio out: proddms.itg.ti.com/.../slla280.pdf

I am applying 30V to PIN 1, 15V to PIN 2, and grounding pins 3 and 4 on the PSU connector.

Inputting analog audio to CH 1+2 with the digital input select switch in the COAX position I get audio out of FRONT LEFT and RIGHT. Using other analog inputs I get audio out of the other channels.

Inputting optical in with the digital input select switch in the OPT position, I get audio out all of the channels.

Please let me know if you need any help.

Thanks for the quick start document and i managed to get sound for the very first time. Awesome!

One last question, does TAS5186A support 3.0 BTL as TAS5176 ?
