TAS5766MRMTEVM: using header file generated from PPC3

Hi TI

I am having trouble finding any guidance in TI documentation for using the header file generated from the End System Integration tab in PPC3. I am not too familiar with the process but think I want a bootloader? I would like my amp settings to be loaded to amp upon power up. I have an SD Card if needed to save program data to it and use the SD card slot on the PPC Motherboard.

Any more info/guidance would be helpful.

Hi Mike,

A header file cannot be used by PPC3. It is provided only for system integration in customer systems. For example, in most customer systems, TAS5766M is controlled by a host processor (like DSP or ARM). A header file is used by the firmware on the host.

Can you help me understand better?

So the smart amp/EQ settings congifured in PPC3 for the EVM are volatile when power is disconnected (PVDD or USB power)? If so, any way to retain the settings between power up/down?

Hi Mike,

Your understanding is correct. You need to launch PPC3 GUI to program TAS5766M devices after they are powered on if you use TAS5766MRMTEVM. In customer systems, host processors like (DSP or ARM) will download the configurations to TAS5766M via i2c.

Understood, but my current setup has the Purepath Console Motherboard attached to the TAS5576MRMTEVM. Is the Purepath Console Motherboard able to act as a host to retain the settings after power down/up?

Hi Mike,

No. The Purepath Console Motherboard itself doesn't have that capability now.
