TAS5731: 2.1ch(SEx2+BTLx1) and output power graph

Part Number: TAS5731

Dear All,

We are considering TAS5731 audio amplifier as 2.1ch one chip solution.

That conditions are SE(15W@4ohm, THD10%) x2 and BTL(30W@4ohm, THD10%).

Is there any problem?

If that is no problem, we'd like to get the output power graph(output power vs. supply voltage / SE and BTL / 4ohm).

There is not any graph in datasheet.

Please send me that.

Regards

Jeffrey

  • Hi Jeffery,
It's a challenge to output 2*15W on 4Ohm load in SE mode. Please refer to the Figure 5 in TAS5731M datasheet(please use TAS5731M instead of TAS5731, the former one is the improved version of the later one). Thermal performance is an issue with 2*4Ohm+4Ohm with higher than 20V PVDD. For the 30W output power on 4Ohm woofer in BTL mode, it's also very close to the thermal limit. Please refer to the Figure 18 in the datasheet.
    Best regards,
    Shawn Zheng
  • Hi Shawn,

    Thanks for your information.
As you told, we concern that there is a thermal issue on 2-layer board of 15Wx2(SE/4ohm)+30W(BTL/4ohm).
So we will try to test and adjust the output power of 2.1 SE mode.

    Regards
    Jeffrey
