TAS5630B: TAS5630B

Part Number: TAS5630B

Hi TI,
we are using TAS5630B as an audio amplifier on board ships. Because the maritime standards are setting a maximum limit for emitted noise, we have been forced to use expensive common mode coils. Because the standard sets a more relaxed limit for lower frequencies than 350kHz, we would like to know if it is possible to clock TAS5630B at 200kHz or even 150kHz? Of course the datasheet would not longer be valid, but is there any danger for the circuit to fail?

  • Trond,

We have run some of our closed-loop devices at lower clocking speeds through the OSC pins and they do work but THD degrades. This being said we have not checked any reliability so it is hard for us to comment on that. We cannot guarantee the datasheet specs as you mentioned but I think you could try it and see.

Below a certain clock speed the device will no longer output audio so you may have to check for that.

    Regards,
