Our contract manufacturer is in possession of a large quantity of PCM2904's that they would like to use up. I have a board that was originally designed for the 2904, but Windows is unable to connect to it using the drivers available on the 2904 product page. What am I missing?

FWIW, I can simply pull the 2904 and drop in a 2906C and Windows recognizes it immediately.

    Hi, John,

    These devices should not require a driver, they use the  native windows driver for USB audio codecs. Can you please  specify which drivers are you referring to? The PCM2904 actually has some known issues,  so we recommend to use the PCM2906C instead.

    Hi, Diego. I appreciate what you are saying. It's clear the 2904 has issues. As I originally mentioned, my CM has 2000 pieces that they bought prematurely, and TI won't take them back, so I would like to come up with a way of using them. I have not been able to get a host running XP, W7, or W10 to recognize the device. Is there some trick to doing so?

    Hi, John,

    Thanks for the feedback; There should be no problem with the device being recognized by the OS, as long as the device is connected as expected (refer to typical apps section of the D/S). What is interesting is that the PCM2906C is being recognized without problems in your board, so this is clearly a problem with the PCM2904. How is the board being recognized by Windows when the PCM2904 is populated?.
