Hi team,

There is an analog mic in and with 2 meters cable to the OPA1642.

Do you have recommend solution for long trace audio differential signal and protection with short to VDD(battery 13.6V) and short to GND?

There is no specific microphone spec currently.

Hi Zoe,

the OPA1642's inputs and output can easily be protected with simple current limiting resistors. See section 8.1.5 of datasheet.

Can you show us a schematic?

Hi Zoe,

I think the two issues you're most likely to face with this are noise pickup in the cabling and ESD damage, at least on the input side. ESD can be avoided by adding TVS diodes to the inputs, and noise can be reduced by low-pass filtering.

For protection against shorts to supply or ground, I'd really need to see the schematic to suggest a solution. If the customer doesn't want to share that publicly, feel free to send it to me by email.
