PCM1864EVM: PCM1864 GUI

Part Number: PCM1864EVM

Hi Expert,

I found the same problem as the below link, I checked the TAS1020 firmware version is 3.04 and sampling rate is 48KHz.

If the version is wrong, can you send the right firmware to me? Thanks!

  • Hi, Jerry,

If the issue is the same, then you should be able to evaluate the device after manually connecting the EVM to the GUI. The problem described is an issue with the auto-detect feature of the GUI. The firmware of your USB-I2X board is fine, but the firmware ID (FWID) might not.

In order to fix this, you can go to the  Direct I²C Read/Write tab (given the manual connection works) and in the Device settings section, click in FWID and read the values. The FWID of the top section of the window should be FWIDUSB-I2X, if not, please paste this text in the write row and click write. This will set the correct id for the USB-I2X board. The correct FWIDs should be as follows:

  • Hi Diego,

Any reason the EVM can't be write FWID?

  • Hi, Jerry,

If the FWID can't be written into the EVM, it is possible that the EEPROM in the EVM is corrupt. Do you get an error message or something telling that the FWID can't be written?.

  • Hi Diego,
    No any error message.
  • Hi, Jerry,

Thanks for the feedback. I think then that the EEPROM in the EVM is damaged and it may be required to change it. As mentioned before, you should be able to evaluate the device even if the board is not recognized automatically.
