TPA2012D2: Obsolete EVM and IC Availability

Hi,

I am planning to use the TPA2012D2 in a relatively high volume consumer device but noticed that the eval module for the TPA2012D2 is labeled as obsolete on all major distributors (Digikey, Mouser, Newark, etc) and not available except for 2 units at Newark. What does this mean for the lifetime of this part? Is there a newer eval module I should be using?

Hi Brian,

Welcome to E2E, thanks for your interest in our products.
I am not sure what is the lifetime of this device, but I will research it. Meantime, you could have a look at the following devices: TPA2016D2 and TPA2026D2. They are newer Stereo Class-D Amplifiers.

Hi Brian,

The TPA2012D2 and Evaluation Module (EVM) are not Obsolete on ti.com and we are not planning to do it. You can buy the EVM directly from TI.
