PCM2902 GUITAR INPUT

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TL082, PCM2902C

HELLO, I have build audio interface for guitar input using PCM2902C. for pre amplifier i'm using TL082. When i'm choice sampel rate 48KHz the device capture much noise and distortion but when choice under 44,1 KHz not much noise and distortion. is there anything we can do to solve this?

thanks
Hisyam

  • Hi, Hisyam,

Welcome to E2E, Thanks for your interest in our products!.

This is not an expected behavior for the PCM2902C, so I wonder if the input stage used might be contributing to the noise. Is it possible to bypass the input stage, provide an analog input to the PCM2902C and make the same test?. The PCM2902C by itself can be seen as a simple device which converts analog audio to USB audio and backwards, so it is unlikely that the problem is related to the codec. One thing to check also would be the power supply structure used, can you monitor the power levels of the part?. I can take a look to your schematic as well to verify the correct implementation of the device.

  • Hi, Diego.

    thanks for your support.

i will test the input stage and make sure the input stage has no noise. please take a look to my schematic and give some advice for the correct implementation.

  • HI, Hisyam,

Thanks for the feedback. The schematic section of the PCM2902C seems correct. The only test I would recommend is to remove the schottky diode and operate the device without the regulator (simple Bus-Powered Configuration) to discard any issue with the voltage provided to VCCCI.
