PLL1705: PLL1705 using the hardware mode instead of software mode

Part Number: PLL1705
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PLL1706

Hello,

I am using the PLL1705 for a system clock of 24.576 MHz at SCKO2. Moreover I am using the Hardware mode.

What should I do with the three-wire interface ML(PIN 7), MC (PIN 6) and MD (PIN 5)?

Can I connect these pins to Ground to disable the software mode?

Thank you.

  • Hi Matthias,

PLL1706 uses a software interface. PLL1705 uses a hardware or parallel interface, where the pins 5, 6, and 7 are FS1, FS2, and SR, respectively . For PLL1705, simply bias the input pins according to the tables given on page 11 of the datasheet. I hope this helps.

    Kind regards,
    Lane
