DIT4096: Can MCLK input be the same as SCLK input in slave mode?

Part Number: DIT4096

I want to use DIT4096 in slave mode to interface with a Bluetooth SOC which is a master from I2S interface perspective.  The design is to support 48KHz sampling rate and 16-bit audio data. DIT4096 will convert the I2S digital audio data into an optical TOSLINK transmitter and a 75-ohm coaxial output interface.  My question below :

DIT4096 requires an MCLK input at 12.288MHz (256 x 48KHz).  Since my host system does not generate a separate MCLK for DIT4096, can I generate a 12.288MHz BCLK from my host to feed for both MCLK and BCLK inputs of DIT4096?

Please advice.

best regards,

Paul
