TAS2559EVM: PurePath Console 3 Not Working on One Device, but Working on Another

Part Number: TAS2559EVM

I've run into a problem with PPC3 where it runs as expected on a Windows 10 machine, but is completely unusable on another. Everything appears normal until I enter the Tuning and Audio Processing section, upon which I receive a "Failed to update process flow" error at the bottom of the screen.

The 'transmitting data' icon that appears at the bottom of the screen when talking to the chip also stays on screen from this point on, and intermittently blinks red.

From here, most modules can be opened, but when returning to the audio processing main page, the app hangs with the loading bar at "Loading -SmartAmp_Mode_Stereo.cfg," and has to be closed. The Equalizer/SmartEQ module on the other hand hangs immediately upon opening it, with the following error:

This happens regardless of whether I open a .ppc3 file that works on the other machine, or start a new file from scratch. It also is not helped by reinstalling, running as administrator, compatibility modes, or restarting.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, because there are times when we only have the one machine available but still need to use PPC.

Thanks!

  • Hi Ryan,

Welcome to E2E, Thanks for your interest in our devices.
Did you do something that could have damaged the device? or Did you do something different with the device that is failing?

  • Hi José,

Thanks for the reply. To clarify, we have a single TAS2559EVM that works on one computer, but not another, despite identical processes and files. The TAS2559EVM still works properly on the other computer, so I don't believe it's damaged in any way.

I suspect something to do with how one computer is dealing with the USB driver versus the other, but am not sure how to investigate that route further.

    Thanks for your help!
  • Hi Ryan,

You could double check all the connections in order to discard hardware problems. I will review if this could be a problem with USB driver.

  • Ryan,

You should also verify that the hardware configuration is correct. Try to copy the configuration of the EVM that works fine.
