PCM1753-Q1: Filter between PCM5173-Q1 and class D amplifier

Part Number: PCM1753-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5411-Q1

Dear all,

one of my AA is going to use the PCM1753-Q1 followed by TAS5411-Q1 (mono application).

Is it possible to configure the Left and right channel of the PCM1753-Q1 as a differential output in order to drive the TAS5411-Q1 ?

Which filter do you suggest between the PCM5173-Q1 and the class D amplifier ? The PCM5173-Q1 has already a low pass filter but it could be not enogh to cut out-band noise intoduced by the sigma delta.

thanks,

Domenico

  • Hi Dominico,

The PCM1753-Q1 does not support the differential output mode, thought I suppose it could be possible for this to be implemented be digitally if the system has a DSP or MCU.

At the very minimum there should be an external RC filter, but better OoB noise performance can be achieved with a higher order active filter.  Figure 29 in the PDS shows an example of this filter.

    Thanks!

    Paul

  • Dear Paul,

    thanks for the suggestions.

The customer is going to implement the differential output in digital way.

Since the customer has provided me schematic and bom for review, can I sent them to you by email?

    regards,

    Domenico
