TLV320AIC3110EVM-U: I2S Input from Raspberry Pi

Part Number: TLV320AIC3110EVM-U

Hi,

I am trying to get this evaluation board to work with the Raspberry Pi's I2S PCM output. It looks like I am able to generate the codec's BCLK, WCLK, and DIN from the Raspberry Pi. However, when I connect them, the sound output is very distorted. It seems like the evaluation board's is outputting BCLK and WCLK while the Raspberry Pi is trying to output them as well.

Is there any way to input WCLK and BCLK into the evaluation board without having contention?

Thanks,

Andy

  • Hi Andy,

The tlv320AIC3110EVM-U was unfortunately not designed with an external i2S source in mind. If you have a aic3111evm that does have the external i2S inputs and is almost identical to the aic3110, but it has a programmable miniDSP.
