LM4871: I have shared the part specification in my website, is this a copyright violation?

Part Number: LM4871

Dear Sir Madam,

I really love the devices produced by TI, and I have been sharing them in my website by explaining my visitors regarding the technical aspects of these wonderful devices.

However I am suddenly seeing a massive drop in my site's ranking and somebody advised me that it was happening because I was violating the copyrights of TI.

Although I have always made sure to add the credit information under the relevant articles and the images, I feel very nervous at the moment and want to know whether this is a copyright violation or not, and should I remove the 5 or 6 articles from my website?

Here's an example article:

www.homemade-circuits.com/.../

And is their any way of getting the kind permission from TI so that I can continue sharing the amazing products manufactured by TI in my website?

Please help me to understand the issue?

Thank you very much for your time,

Sincerely

Swagatam

PS: I tried to contact through the email form but somehow it stayed being unresponsive on the second age, and therefore I found no other option but to contact through this support forum.

  • Hi Swagatam,

Welcome to E2E, thanks for your interest in our devices.
I will review it with the communications team once I get the feedback, so I will get back to you.

  • Thank you very much!

I look forward to your response.

    Swagatam.

  • Hi Swagatam,

The communication team has informed me its feedback.
TI typically provides journalists permission to repurpose our images with a credit line. The use in blogs are similar and as you have attributed the images to TI we are comfortable providing permission.
This page copyrights on the TI website covers general permission to students, teachers, and nonprofits to use TI copyrighted works and contact information for others. This site covers the rules of use, what is acceptable and what is not acceptable. In the latter case, TI may request materials not be used or be removed from a post or a site.

    Appreciate it a lot!

    Many Thanks

    Sincerely,
