TLV320AIC3256: TLV320AIC3256

Part Number: TLV320AIC3256

I am planning to use the aic3256 as a portable audio device with integral hearing test. The tone generator is used to generate independent audiograms for left and right ears. BiQuad filter banks selectively amplify digital inputs which are then combined by respective mixers. The mixer weights are based on the left and right audiograms. I have verified this works with Pure Path Studio and my function generator and scope.

My plan is to use an MSP430 to administer the hearing test and write the appropriate mixer weights.

Does TI make anything similar to the aic3256 codec with an on chip processor? In other words, does TI make a single chip solution?

Thanks,

Bob Rountree

  • Hi, Robert,

Unfortunately we don't have an integrated solution like the one you mention; the AIC3256 codec should be used with a host processor in the end-system.
