TPA3112D1EVM: Fault Oscillating

Part Number: TPA3112D1EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPA3112D1

Hi team,

I received a TPA3112D1 EVM yesterday. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get it to work. I supplied power to it (24VDC) and observed the following:

  • When no connection on output or input,  FAULT line is high.
  • Voltage on OUT+ is about 12V, OUT- about 12V
  • With audio source (phone playing music) connected thru an RCA jack, the FAULT line goes low for a while then tries to go high unsuccessfully (cycle repeats).
  • When I plug the RCA jack with no audio source present, the FAULT line starts oscillating as described below.

I do not have a load connected, and all jumpers are installed as the stock configuration (I haven't made any changes).

I checked voltages on pins- seems ok.  Checked for shorts to GND and everything seems ok.

  • Impedance OUT+ to GND  above 360K
  • Impedance OUT- to GND  above 360K
  • Impedance OUT+ to OUT- above 650K.

Any ideas what I can do to get this going?

Thanks,

Brian Angiel
