TPA2005D1: Differences to TPA2006D1

Part Number: TPA2005D1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPA2006D1

Dear Team,

our customer is looking for a Class D speaker amp and the TPA2005D1 or TPA2006D1 seem to be a good candidate.

However, we try to understand the differences between the two versions.

  • The 06 seems to have slightly better specs (Efficiency, PSRR, noise)
  • The 06 seems to be a bit cheaper ($0.4 vs $0.35 @ 1k webprice)
  • The 06 is compatible with 1.8V at the Shutdown pin

  • The 05 has more package options

Do we see it correctly that the 06 is an improved version with less package options? Or do we miss a point?

Thanks and best regards
Martin

  • Hi Martin,

The main difference is the shutdown logic compatibility (and package options).
I think we have some typos to correct on TPA2005D1 data sheet front page. As you can see in Electrical Characteristics and Typical Characteristics sections, both devices have basically the same performance.

They should select TPA2005D1 or TPA2006D1 based on the logic voltage requirements from their system, or the package needs.

    Best regards,
