ADI recently announced an ADZS-SC589-MINI audio module for project development. It has an ADSP-SC589 SHARC processor, ADAU1761 SigmaDSP Audio Codec, and other features. This is really overkill for a portable audio device. Does TI currently have or plan to offer anything comparable but on a smaller scale suitable for a portable audio project? For example, one of the MSP430 processors (e.g. MSP430FR2433) together with a TLV320AIC3256 codec would be about right, If included software provided an example of i2c control of the AIC3256 it would greatly simplify project design. It would be even better with a capacitive I/O device. If TI does not have anything like this, please consider such a design. I think it would help a lot of people with design projects.
