TLV320ADC3101-Q1 question about data rates

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV320ADC3101-Q1, CC1350

Hello, I am considering doing a project on the wireless transmission of digital audio in the sub 1 GHz band. So the first step is to convert the analog audio into digital, and I see this codec TLV320ADC3101-Q1.

If I take samples at 44.1 kHz and the resolution of the conversion is 24 bits, I have a data rate of 1058.4 kbps, so my question is if the digital audio data is compressed and how much is it. Because I have to send it to the tranciver. I see some transceivers in IT, for example, the CC1350 that allows me to transfer 500 kbps of data in the band from 779 MHz to 930 MHz with 2-GFSK modulation, but I do not know if this transcriber is ideal for this project.

I see the MLX2571 that is used in professional wireless audio systems, but I can not find any information on the data rates, and I do not know if TI has development software for this product.

I ask here this information and guidance for this project, and if I have to have a more complex vision for him.

Thanks, and I'm waiting for an answer.

  • Hi, Agustin,

Welcome to E2E, thanks for your interest in our products!

The ADC3101 is one of our most popular audio ADCs, so it would be a good option for you to capture the analog audio.

In order to get the better solution for the communication part of your project, I would recommend you to post your question in the Sub-1GHz forum of E2E where one of my colleagues experts on these devices will help you to identify the best part for your application.

    Best Regards,
